Alabama QB Alec Morris may be on his way to North Texas to finish out his career in 2016.
A report from the Denton Record-Chronicle’s Brett Vito surfaced on Monday night, indicating that the redshirt junior is planning to leave Alabama to join new North Texas head coach Seth Littrell, who is looking to install a wide-open passing attack for a Conference USA program that went just 1-11 in 2015.
Morris would be eligible to play immediately as a graduate transfer.
Vito’s sources say that Morris is still in the process of receiving his release from Alabama, and that he intends to finish out the Crimson Tide’s national title quest as a member of the team prior to transferring.
Morris completed his only pass attempt this season against Charleston Southern, and served much of the last two seasons as the No. 3 option at quarterback for the Crimson Tide.
