Voters are fed up with choosing between insiders in this election, and they’re voting for an outsider to get things done.
Sound familiar?
No, we’re not talking about the Republican or Democratic presidential primaries.
We’re talking about the University of Alabama’s Student Government Association elections.
According to a report from 247Sports’ Charlie Potter, Crimson Tide football coach Nick Saban did incredibly well in the recent elections as a write-in candidate:
More than 13,000 University of Alabama students voted in the 2016 Student Government Association election, and Saban finished in at least the top four in all seven executive positions, receiving 97 write-in votes.
Saban was the fourth-leading vote getter for SGA President, earning 22 write-in votes in a field Lillian Roth won the race with more than 50 percent (7,408) of the votes. The 22 votes were Saban’s most of any position.
Something tells us that Saban won’t be enrolling as a student anytime soon to make a full-time push for one of these positions.
Though, based on the polling, it looks like he’d win in a landslide if he were actually on the ballot.
