Report: Alabama expected to hire longtime NFL assistant to replace Bo Davis
The Alabama Crimson Tide didn’t wait long to find its replacement for Bo Davis.
AL.com is reporting Karl Dunbar will become the next defensive line coach for the Tide.
Dunbar previously worked as a strength coach for Nick Saban at LSU from 2000-01 and more recently as a defensive line coach in the NFL for the Chicago Bears, Minnesota Vikings, New York Jets and Buffalo Bills.
Dunbar’s NFL experience lead him to coaching several of the game’s best interior defenders including: Tommie Harris, Tank Johnson, Kevin Williams, Pat Williams, Muhammad Wilkerson, Sheldon Richardson and Kyle Williams.
Dunbar played defensive end for LSU and was an eighth round draft pick in 1990. His coaching resume dates back to 1998, when he was hired by Nicholls State as a defensive line coach.
Happy to see Karl Dunbar headed to Alabama. Always been regarded as a good one https://t.co/sNnVtycOD5
