The latest team to work out Sims is the Atlanta Falcons — reportedly Friday, and he previously worked out for the Bucs at the same position but left with no offer.
The 6-foot, 212-pound quarterback threw for an Alabama-record 3,487 yards, rushed for 350 yards and scored 35 total touchdowns while leading Alabama to a College Football Playoff appearance during his senior season.
“I think that Blake’s athleticism, his production (in 2014), are things that people are going to have to take into account,” Nick Saban said after Sims’ Pro Day. “There are more and more offenses that people are willing to utilize a guy like him. So I do think Blake has a lot to offer a team, and I do think he’s going to get an opportunity with someone.”
Can Sims make an NFL roster? It remains to be seen. He’s certainly a good athlete, and he’s clearly willing to change positions to make it happen.
