Video: Cyrus Jones scores TD on a most interesting punt return
By Chris Wright
Published:
Alabama’s Cyrus Jones picked up deflected punt and raced 43 yards untouched into the end zone for a touchdown.
That much was unquestionable.
The question was: Who deflected the ball?
Video replays seem to indicate the ball bounced off the heel of Charleston Southern’s Troy McGowens.
Twitter suggested the ball bounced off an Alabama player, the result of which would have created a fumble.
The result was Jones bursting in, scooping and scoring.

CSU punt reached a cruising altitude of about 10 inches, hit a UA blocker downfield, rolled around a second. Jones scooped and scored.

This video doesn’t show the deflection, just the result.
