Notre Dame is more important than the SEC – in Michigan’s opinion. Or maybe Jim Harbaugh is just scared of playing in an SEC stadium.

Sports Illustrated is reporting that UM is dropping the agreed to home-and-home with Arkansas in favor of renewing the Wolverines’ rivalry with Notre Dame.

The Razorbacks were set to visit in Ann Arbor in 2018 and host Michigan in 2019. It’s unclear how Arkansas will choose to fill out the schedule, although Bret Bielema, a former Wisconsin coach, has been vocal about wanting to see more SEC-Big Ten matchups in the regular season. The Hogs’ annual meeting with Texas A&M in Dallas could complicate any attempts to schedule with Power 5 teams who would prefer to play at a neutral site instead of home-and-home.

This clearly means that Arkansas and Michigan need to cross paths in a future bowl game while Bielema and Jim Harbaugh are still the head coaches.
