The SEC record for the longest field goal is 60 yards — shared by three former players (Fuad Reveiz of Tennessee, Kevin Butler of Georgia, and Chris Perkins of Florida).
Carlson: "I've always been a perfectionist." Says he definitely has a goal to win the Lou Groza Award this season. Was a finalist in 2015.

Via 247sports, Carlson spoke about his history as a kicker. In practice, he claims to hit 70-yard bombs through the uprights. From ten yards closer, the Tigers kicker is also very sanguine.
“I can hit 60-plus pretty easily. If I have a fresh leg, I can hit 60-plus.”
Last year, Carlson was a finalist for the Lou Groza Award. He’s hit on 97-straight PAT attempts, and went 23-of-27 on field goal attempts in 2015. Assuming he can continue on this streak of kicking brilliance, there’s no question Carlson will be a favorite for All-America honors.
