One of the biggest question marks for the Gators this offseason has yet to be resolved, as the status of sophomore receiver Antonio Callaway – and a lesser extent junior Treon Harris – remains up in the air. Second-year Florida head coach Jim McElwain gave the latest update following the player’s offseason suspension, as he addressed the question of Callaway’s status Monday at SEC Media Days.

“Treon Harris and Antonio Callaway are back in classes but nothing’s been resolved about playing,” McElwain said to assembled media. “It’s out of my hands.”

McElwain also said both players were back on campus working out but would not expound beyond that in regards to their status.

While Callaway “officially” remains suspended according to McElwain, the sophomore was spotted in the background of Treon Harris’ Periscope video that was shot from the team’s facility Monday. In his true freshman season, Callaway caught 35 passes for 678 yards and four touchdowns.

It should be noted that both players are listed in the Gators’ recently released 2016 media guide, although Harris is listed at quarterback despite a rumored move to receiver.
