4-star Georgia safety Deangelo Gibbs picks UGA over Alabama

Things keep going Kirby Smart’s way.
Two days after beating TCU in the Liberty Bowl, Georgia picked up a commitment from four-star safety Deangelo Gibbs. The Grayson (Loganville, Ga.) product, who checks in at 6-foot-2, 204 pounds, had narrowed his choices down to Georgia and Alabama, announcing he’ll be playing for the Bulldogs at Sunday’s Under Armour All-America game in Orlando.

While most recruiting experts see Gibbs as a safety, at his announcement he talked of playing both offense and defense at UGA. He measures 6-foot-2, 204 pounds.
Georgia’s class, previously ranked No. 3 nationally and No. 2 in the SEC, keeps getting better with Gibbs becoming commit No. 21, with an eye-popping 18 four- or five-star pledges.
