Sound the alarms and roll out the red carpet. It looks like Georgia will be wearing black this weekend.

On Monday night, Georgia’s official Twitter account hinted at the team wearing the alternate uniforms for the first time since 2008:

Before the start of the season, UGA athletic director Greg McGarity said the Bulldogs would begin wearing the black jerseys once a year beginning this fall. He added that it would be for a home game and it wouldn’t come as a surprise, as students were asked to wear black for UL-Lafayette several weeks in advance.

The Bulldogs have retired their black jerseys for the last eight years after losing a close one to Alabama at home, 41-30, despite a 31-0 halftime deficit.
