Kentucky releases official statement on dismissal of Jason Hatcher
By Nick Cole
Published:
Kentucky has dismissed DE/OLB Jason Hatcher following a Monday morning arrest for drug possession.
The university issued a brief and direct press release on Hatcher’s status with the team just hours after the news of his arrest broke:
Jason Hatcher, a defensive end/linebacker on the University of Kentucky football team, has been dismissed for violation of team rules, Coach Mark Stoops has announced. UK has no additional comment.
As more details come out on the story, it appears as though the Wildcats felt a clean break was necessary:
Franklin County deputies say a pound of pot was found in the SUV being driven by Hatcher.
