Three University of Kentucky football players — quarterback Drew Barker, wideout Dorian Baker and defensive tackle Tymere Dubose — were not indicted by a Madison County grand jury for their roles in a bar fight in Richmond, Ky., on January 25 of this year.
The fight, which took place at Jerzee’s Cocktail Lounge and Dance Club in Richmond, left Eastern Kentucky University offensive lineman Colton Scurry injured with a broken nose and facial fractures. Scurry, 20, was also not indicted.
The grand jury heard evidence from the case on March 25 but did not return a verdict until Wednesday. The grand jury released the following statement, according to the Lexington Herald-Leader:
“Having heard testimony from witnesses and having considered the evidence, it is the decision of the Madison County grand jury to not indict anyone.”
Madison County Commonwealth’s Attorney David Smith refused to speculate on the grand jury’s decision.
