After opening the season so promisingly with a 4-1 start, Kentucky has lost three straight and will need to quickly rebound to avoid another long losing streak to end the season.
Coach Mark Stoops addressed that and more during his weekly press conference Monday.
STOOPS: The only way to erase this feeling in your program is to win.

Looking ahead to Saturday, Kentucky travels to Georgia, which has lost three of four and is coming off an embarrassing effort against rival Florida. The Bulldogs haven’t scored an offensive touchdown since Oct. 10.
STOOPS: They are a very good football team. Coach Richt has done a great job for a long time. Very good, storied program.

STOOPS: There is not one bit of me that things our guys' hearts were not in it. Not at all.

STOOPS: Boom (Williams) will be out with an elbow injury. It is week to week but he is out right now.

The Wildcats lost their top running back in the blowout loss to the Volunteers last week, and Stoops already ruled him out against Georgia. Kentucky’s other running backs have combined for 42 fewer yards than Williams’ total through seven games (563 rushing yards, 3 TDs).
STOOPS: Right now, Joey (Herrick) and Boom will be out this week for sure. Joey has a bone bruise, glad its not more significant.

STOOPS: Mike Edwards is playing very good football. Mike has earned the right to be on the field almost at all times.

The one piece of good news for the Kentucky football program is that their stud three-star freshman safety appears to be getting better each game, with 15 tackles in his past two games after starting the season with just three tackles in his first three games.
