LSU gained its eighth commitment toward its 2017 recruiting class Friday as offensive lineman Austin Deculus committed to the Tigers. Rivals were the first to report Deculus’ commitment to LSU.

The 6-foot-6, 323-pound Deculus is rated as a four-star recruit and the No. 45 overall recruit in the nation and No. 5 prospect from Texas according to 247Sports Composite Ratings. Deculus also has offers from Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, Tennessee, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Texas among many others. Deculus will also be a participant of The Opening Finals in Oregon this summer, joining the nation’s elite from across the country for the annual Nike event.

“It’s just always been my dream (playing for LSU) since I was little,” Deculus said according to Rivals. “The offense that they run suits me well; they just line up and smash you in the mouth every play.”

Judging from his highlight tape, Deculus fits the mold of classic Tigers lineman, as he possess a huge frame and is a devastating run blocker.
