LSU’s 2016 recruiting class looks to be down a second signee this week as defensive end Andre Anthony appears to be joining Edwin Alexander in failing to enroll for summer classes.
If both Anthony and Alexander fail to enroll this summer, the Tigers will be down three defensive linemen signees in total in the 2016 recruiting class, as defensive end Sci Martin also has yet to enroll in classes at LSU.
According to Ross Dellenger of The Advocate, Anthony’s eligibility has yet to be officially cleared by the NCAA clearinghouse. Anthony’s issues stem from his time at New Orleans’ Miller McCoy Academy, a school which has since closed down. Acquiring Anthony’s academic records from Miller McCoy Academy appears to be the current holdup in the process.
If all three linemen fail to enroll at LSU this fall, the Tigers’ 2016 recruiting class will feature only three true defensive linemen: Rashard Lawrence, Glen Logan and Caleb Roddy.
