Former LSU defensive tackle Travonte Valentine, who was dismissed before the 2015 season, is back with the team and has been ruled eligible to play right away, 247Sports reported Monday.

Valentine has three remaining years of eligibility and vows to show he’s matured since his dismissal.

“I want to focus on my three years at LSU to graduate and hopefully win a few National Championships,” Valentine said. “I’ve matured as a man since I left and want to prove myself to the wonderful fans at LSU.”

Valentine signed with LSU in 2014 but was ruled ineligible, which forced him to redshirt. Last fall, he played Arizona Western Junior College in Yuma, Arizona and transferred to Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College this offseason.

Valentine was the top-ranked defensive tackle and No. 18 overall prospect among JUCO transfers for 2016. He was also a standout in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl and a Top 50 national blue chip prospect for the 2014 class.
