Alabama’s spring commencement event has added Nick Saban to the lineup.
One week ago, the University of Alabama announced that it was one of the schools selected to have President Donald Trump deliver its spring 2025 commencement address. On Tuesday, Alabama announced that Saban will also deliver comments on Thursday at Coleman Coliseum, along with Trump and UA President Stuart R. Bell.
The commencement can be attended by obtaining tickets. Per UA, candidates for spring commencement have priority seating. Free tickets were also offered to summer and fall graduates, as well as guests of graduates. A limited number of tickets were made available to faculty, staff and other students.
Saban had a legendary tenure as the head coach of Alabama football from 2007 through 2023, retiring on Jan. 10, 2024. Shortly after retiring, Saban joined ESPN as a college football analyst. Saban was part of ESPN’s NFL Draft coverage this past weekend, and is set to return to College GameDay for the 2025 season.
Trump hosted the 2017 national champion Alabama football team at the White House on April 10, 2018.
