Assessing Texas A&M’s recruiting class heading into January

Texas A&M needs help. It seemed like College Station was emerging as a sexy destination heading into the season. Right now, the Aggies don’t have a five-star recruit signed after having three heading into 2015.
Sure, Wednesday night’s Music City Bowl loss didn’t carry much weight. But it provided some keen insight.
Jake Hubenak looked confused and raw. Myles Garrett was the only defender putting pressure on the quarterback. The Aggies offensive line struggled to carve holes for its running backs and failed in pass protection more than once. Heading into January, Texas A&M ranks seventh in the SEC (20th in the nation) in recruiting. The Aggies top recruit is four-star DE Justin Madubuike, the 43rd-best prospect in the country.
With Kyle Allen and Kyler Murray transferring, Texas A&M should be targeting a QB prospect. Currently, the Aggies don’t have any QB recruits locked down for 2016.
