Georgia fans probably remember Southern University WR Devon Gales, who was paralyzed during a game against the Bulldogs last year.

The road to recovery has been long for Gales (Monday was the one-year anniversary of the injury), but WSB-TV 2 in Atlanta reported that Gales has made major progress:

“I’m able to feel a lot more in my foot and my legs,” Gales told Channel 2’s Tyisha Fernandes.

To all the Georgia fans who have followed Gales’ recovery and wished him well, he said he appreciates the support and hopes to have more good news to report soon:

“I want to tell them thank you for praying for me and just following my story, and I’m going to have a big story for you real soon, I’m just telling you I’m going to be standing up,” Gales told Fernandes.

Here’s hoping Gales will continue to recover quickly.
