Independence Bowl first half is highest scoring in bowl history

By the middle of the second quarter, head coach Frank Beamer and the Hokies had already score 45 points on Tulsa. The half ended with a score of 45-31, making this highest scoring half in Independence Bowl history.

Beamer, who has led Virginia Tech to 23 straight bowl games, is looking to get a win in his last career game after announcing his retirement last month.
