Video: Muschamp says South Carolina has “most loyal fans in America” during halftime speech at basketball game

Will Muschamp has become a pretty popular guy in Columbia after being hired as the Gamecocks head coach last month, and his comments during a halftime speech at a South Carolina basketball game on Saturday will do little to hurt his growing popularity.
Muschamp has spent time at many major college football programs, including a stint as head coach at Florida and periods as a defensive coordinator for LSU, Auburn and Texas.
But after just a few weeks at South Carolina, he’s ready to crown Gamecock Nation as the most loyal fan base in America:
Now we know this was a speech at a South Carolina basketball game that was meant to rally a group of fans that endured a 3-9 football season in 2015, but doesn’t he know that’s going to ruffle some feathers?
Maybe that was the point of making such a statement.
In any event, Muschamp also introduces his coaching staff to the Gamecocks fans during the video. It’s a solid group.
