South Carolina had a special play for an attempted 2-point conversion in the fourth quarter Saturday against The Citadel.
Quarterback Perry Orth threw a screen pass to left tackle Brandon Shell, whose legs were cut down by a Citadel defender just inside the 10-yard line.
Shell, nephew of former NFL star Art Shell, is listed as 6-feet-6 and 324 pounds.
After the failed attempt, the Gamecocks led 22-17. They now trail the Bulldogs 23-22.
