When Georgia beat Tennessee in 2001 in Knoxville, radio announcer Larry Munson gave a call that has lived on in Georgia lore:
“My God Almighty, did you see what he did? David Greene just straightened up and we snuck the fullback over!” Munson screamed. “We just dumped it over! 26-24! We just stepped on their face with a hobnail boot and broke their nose! We just crushed their face!”
On Saturday, Tennessee won on a dramatic Hail Mary from QB Joshua Dobbs (you can see where this is going) to WR Jauan Jennings, prompting one Tennessee fan to make “Dobbnail Boot” T-shirts:
Y'all asked for it: the #DobbnailBoot t-shirt. I'll have it on https://t.co/dbhAmm6Blu tomorrow. @VolRumorMill @JBCVOL @CaptainHulk3 pic.twitter.com/gJG2eOcihF

How fortunate for Tennessee fans that their quarterback has a name that allowed them to turn Georgia’s iconic call into a pun. Expect plenty of the Dobbnail Boot shirts to make their way into the stands when the Bulldogs visit Knoxville next season.
The 2001 call of the Georgia victory can be seen below. Check out Vols Radio Network announcer Bob Kesling’s sure-to-be iconic call of yesterday’s Tennessee win here.
