Alabama RB Bo Scarbrough explains what he’s learned from team’s younger RBs

Bo Scarbrough, and the rest of Alabama’s talented backfield, is focused on being a strong team player this season.

Scarbrough is still in the process of working his way back from a broken leg suffered in the College Football Playoff National Championship Game against Clemson.

Scarbrough was Alabama’s leading rusher in the championship game before his injury, but he was part of a three-man rotation last season that will likely get more crowded this year. He was recently asked about the team-centered focus held by Alabama’s stable of RB’s, and he didn’t really see it as competition. Instead, Scarbrough calls it “creation.”

“It’s just about becoming a team player, and trying to help the next guy out to get a better result,” said Scarbrough. “It’s all about creation.

“It’s (creation) about helping each other out, and showing them (younger RB’s) the ropes and learning from each other,” Scarbrough explained. “Even though we are the oldest guys, there’s something that we can take from the younger guys and put it into our perspective, and that’s how you make creation.”

Alabama is returning three RB’s who rushed for 500+ yards last season: Scarbrough, Joshua Jacobs, and Damien Harris. The Crimson Tide will also be adding 5-star signee Najee Harris to the team, someone who has really impressed Scarbrough.

“Najee and Josh Jacobs are pretty similar,” said Scarbrough. “They are very shifty. They can stick their foot in the ground and get up field real quick, and, you know, that’s something that I’m kind of taking from their game. That’s something we all need to take from each other.”

The biggest question for Alabama’s running backs: How will the coaching staff keep all of these talented players happy?
