Kenyan Drake may be on his way to the NFL, but that doesn’t mean he’s leaving behind Roll Tiders.

The former Alabama running back, a Powder Spring, Ga., native, traveled to his home state on Sunday night in the midst of his scheduled visits with NFL teams to see diehard Alabama fan Daniel Wesley, as told in a story by ESPN’s Vaughn McClure.

Wesley has been hospitalized at Atlanta’s Shepard Center for spinal cord & brain injury rehabilitation after an incident in which he cut his hand, passed out and fell backwards before fracturing his skull.

It happened on Jan. 12, the day after Alabama beat Clemson in the national championship game, while Wesley was at the site of his job at a cable television company.

Wesley had surgery within the first 48 hours to remove the right bone flap of his skull due to swelling before having to do the same thing on the left side for the same reason.

Wesley, who has a scar running from the front to the back of his head, has slowly been able to recover. Drake told McClure what it meant to spend time with Wesley.

“You can’t really describe the feeling in words,’’ Drake said. “Just the gleam in somebody’s eyes and knowing that you can impact somebody in that manner, you can’t really describe it. I’m just glad that I can be on a platform to bring that kind of joy to people.”
