Alabama reunion? Amari Cooper reportedly drawing ‘great interest’ from pair of NFL teams

Amari Cooper is expected to be released by the Dallas Cowboys next week, and there are reportedly at least 2 teams with “great interest” in the former Alabama star. And they both happen to have a former Alabama quarterback at the helm.
The New England Patriots with Mac Jones, and the Miami Dolphins with Tua Tagovailoa each have interest, according to Jordan Schultz, as both teams are looking to upgrade their wide receiver positions. Cooper is due $20 million in fully guaranteed money on the fifth day of the new league year, March 20, and the Cowboys are not expected to pay it.

Cooper is coming off a down season, catching just 68 passes for 865 yards and 8 TDs. That was the fewest number of catches for Cooper as a Cowboy, and the second-lowest number of catches in his career. His lowest total was 48 in 2017 for the Raiders. It was also only the second time in his career that Cooper didn’t reach 1,000 yards receiving, he also didn’t in 2017. However, the 8 touchdowns tied for a career high.
