Alabama will officially dedicate Saban Field at Bryant-Denny Stadium on Saturday as the Crimson Tide take on South Florida.
The program revealed details for the ceremony on Wednesday. It’s set to take place before and during Saturday night’s home game and will conclude with Saban’s name being part of the team’s home field permanently moving forward.
In a press release from Alabama Athletics, the school stated it will formally dedicate Saban Field at Bryant-Denny Stadium with pregame and halftime ceremonies.

Per Alabama’s press release, the first ceremony will take place at the head of the Walk of Champions on University Blvd. at approximately 2:30 p.m. ET. New stadium signage will be unveiled at that ceremony. President Dr. Stuart R. Bell, athletic director Greg Byrne and Saban are all scheduled to speak at that event.
The Sabans will be recognized on the field at halftime of Alabama’s Week 2 contest against USF after the end of the Million Dollar Band’s performance, per the athletic department.
Alabama says commemorative game programs will be on sale throughout the perimeter of and inside the stadium. Additionally, the press release states that commemorative game tickets will be available for purchase after the conclusion of the game.
Nick Saban is widely regarded as one of the best coaches in college football history. After 17 years leading the Tide, Saban retired following the end of the 2023 season.
His 7 national titles are the most in college football history. His first came as the head coach for LSU in 2003, but the other 6 came as head coach of the Crimson Tide, where he turned the Alabama football program into a powerhouse from 2007-2023.
Kickoff against South Florida is set for 7 p.m. ET on Saturday night.
