Alabama vs. Clemson had surprise ratings in national championship game

The 2015 national championship bout between Alabama and Clemson was considered one for the ages.

But last night’s, some would argue, was even better.

Regardless of which one subjectively ranks No. 1 and 2, they were both outstanding performances and proved to be everything a college football fan could ever ask for when it comes to the final game of the season.

That’s why it’s a bit surprising to see that the ratings were down this time around:

Not only is that down 4 percent from the first edition of the matchup (16.0), it ranks as the lowest in five years, since Alabama/LSU scored a 13.8.

What the heck were some people watching last night? “The Bachelor?” “Big Bang Theory?” “Supergirl?”
