Draft-day free fall? Alabama LB Dylan Moses is sliding on Day 3 of NFL Draft
Alabama linebacker Dylan Moses was once thought to be a future first round pick, but he’s now in a free-fall on Day 3 of the NFL Draft.
Moses didn’t go in any of the first five rounds of the draft, and Round 6 is nearly over with his name still on the board.
Moses tore his ACL before the 2019 season, which could be a major reason for his slide down the draft. Because the NFL combine wasn’t in-person this year, teams have had issues securing complete medical records for certain prospects.
Still, Moses had a productive 2020 campaign with the Crimson Tide. He made 76 tackles, six tackles for loss, one sack and one interception this past season. Moses made six total tackles in the National Championship Game against Ohio State.
According to WalterFootball.com’s scouting report on Moses, he was projected to be a Day 2 pick in this draft.
Here’s some of the reaction from fans and media on Moses’ fall to the later rounds:
Guys like Dylan Moses, Trey Smith and Quincy Roche shouldn't still be on the board IMO. Their tape, when healthy, was a helluva lot higher on the board.
But maybe injuries? Off field stuff? Drug test? Idk.
Also, remember when Marvin Wilson was a Day 1 guy before the season?

Dylan Moses & Trey Smith should have already been drafted … This is crazy .

Imagine hearing last September that Dylan Moses and Shaun Wade would be on the board middle of round 5. How bad both of those guys fell off this year was stunning. I wouldn’t even be surprised if Wade ended up undrafted.

If Dylan Moses didn't have knee surgery and play hurt all this year, he would have been picked in the 1st round… No doubt..

Auburn’s KJ Britt went before Dylan Moses. Really like Britt a lot as a late-round linebacker, but there’s no way you were convincing me that would happen prior to the draft.

Feel horrible for Trey Smith, Marvin Wilson, Dylan Moses, etc.
Gotta think the medical came back bad. Sucks.
