Even after a narrow 27-19 road victory over Texas A&M this week, Alabama remains the nation’s top team, and for good reason.

The Crimson Tide have dominated most opponents this year and look the part of the best team in the country.

Can anyone stop coach Nick Saban’s squad this year? ESPN’s FPI ratings don’t see an upset happening any time soon.

Here are the win percentages ESPN’s FPI gives the Crimson Tide in each of their remaining six regular season games:

  • vs. Arkansas — 98.1 percent
  • vs. Tennessee — 97.6 percent
  • vs. LSU — 94.7 percent
  • at Mississippi State — 87.6 percent
  • vs. Mercer — 99.7 percent
  • at Auburn — 72 percent

Not surprisingly, Auburn is expected to be Alabama’s toughest remaining opponent, while the FPI rankings give Mercer almost no shot of pulling off the massive upset.

However, upsets can happen at any time (just ask Oklahoma) and as the old saying goes “that’s why you play the game.”

Alabama has a clear path to an undefeated season, but it still won’t be easy to accomplish.
