Former Alabama DB Cyrus Jones reportedly has a new NFL home. ESPN’s Field Yates is reporting that the Denver Broncos have claimed Jones after he was waived by the Baltimore Ravens.
Jones has bounced around the NFL a bit over the last two seasons. The former Crimson Tide cornerback was waived by the New England Patriots on Sept. 1, 2018. He then signed with the Ravens practice squad (Sept. 3, 2018). The Patriots signed him again on Sept. 19, 2018, but waived him on Oct. 6, 2018. After the second release from New England, Jones landed (where else…) with Baltimore again on Oct. 8, 2018. Jones’ second stint with the Ravens ended with the team waiving him on Tuesday.
After playing at Alabama 2012-15, New England drafted Jones in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft with the No. 60 overall pick.
The Broncos have claimed DB/KR Cyrus Jones from the Ravens and waived DB Cory Sensabaugh, per source.
