Former Alabama LB Ryan Anderson’s status with Giants clarified

The NFL transaction wire showed that the New York Giants had released former Alabama linebacker Ryan Anderson. As it turns out, Anderson is still with the Giants.

Anderson signed a one-year deal with the Giants in March. He had been placed on the non-football injury (NFI) list on July 22 with a reported back injury. Anderson recently passed his physical.
Anderson has been in the NFL since 2017, when he was selected by Washington with the No. 49 overall pick in round 2 of the NFL Draft. He played in 52 games for Washington over the past four seasons, recording 78 total tackles, 6 sacks, 5 forced fumbles and a pass deflection.
