Former Alabama RB Josh Jacobs is ending his holdout with the Las Vegas Raiders. Jacobs and the Raiders have come to an agreement on a contract for the 2023 season.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Jacobs is signing a 1-year deal worth up to $12 million without the franchise tag.
He’s back: The #Raiders and star RB Josh Jacobs have agreed to terms on a new one-year contract that can be worth up to $12M, sources tell me and @TomPelissero, taking the place of the franchise tag.

In July, Jacobs and the Raiders missed a deadline for franchise-tagged players to sign long-term deals. It resulted in Jacobs being absent from training camp. Jacobs was in contract limbo and could not be fined for his absence, having not signed franchise tender.
Jacobs and the Raiders have had a somewhat rocky relationship over the past 15+ months. Back on April 29, 2022, the Raiders declined Jacobs’ 5th-year option ahead of his Year 4 season.
Jacobs used the contract-year motivation as fuel. In 2022, Jacobs rushed for a career-high 1,653 yards, leading all NFL rushers. He was named first-team All-Pro and selected to his second Pro Bowl.
The Raiders selected Jacobs with the No. 24 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. In 60 regular-season games, Jacobs has rushed 1,072 times for 4,740 yards and 40 touchdowns while logging 160 receptions for 1,152 yards.
