Ha Ha Clinton-Dix had a memorable 1st day as an Alabama staffer this week.

Clinton-Dix joined the Crimson Tide as the director of player development this offseason. On Tuesday, he shared that he’s already been on the receiving end of a talking-to from head coach Nick Saban.

“1 down, 5 million to go,” he wrote.

Here’s what he said about the interaction:

Clinton-Dix played at Alabama from 2011-13. He was then selected in the 1st round of the 2014 NFL Draft by the Green Bay Packers.

Clinton-Dix officially retired from the NFL earlier this offseason. The former Alabama star played for 7 seasons, but his role was limited in the past 2 years. He played in 2 games in 2021 and didn’t play at all during the 2022 campaign.

However, Clinton-Dix started 90 NFL games from 2014-19 and recorded 522 tackles, 16 interceptions and 4 forced fumbles.

His best NFL season came in 2016. He picked off 5 passes that season — a career-high — and reached the Pro Bowl for the only time in his career.

Now at Alabama, Clinton-Dix will be tasked with helping to prepare current players for the NFL grind.
