Jalen Hurts took responsibility for his fumble in the Super Bowl, which was scooped up by Nick Bolton and returned 36 yards for a touchdown.

The former Alabama quarterback spoke after the Kansas City Chiefs beat his Philadelphia Eagles, 38-35 on Sunday in Super Bowl LVII.

“I always hold myself to a very high standard,” Hurts said. “Hold myself to a very high standard in everything that I do and obviously trying to control the things that I can. I touch the ball every play. Obviously you want to protect it, but it did hurt us. You never know what play it will be, but it hurt us.”

Hurts added that he looks back and wonders what more he could have done to change the outcome of the game, but that’s the way it was, he said.
