Jalen Milroe sees a little extra competition in Saturday’s game against LSU because of the Tigers high-octane offense. Milroe wants to out-perform the Tigers.

“LSU has a great offense, and they’re doing a lot of great stuff,” Milroe told reporters on Monday. “Jayden Daniels is doing a great job leading those guys, and being efficient as a passer.”

The Tigers score 47.4 points per game and amass 552.9 yards per game. Daniels completes 73.1% of his passes for 2,573 yards and 25 TDs versus 3 interceptions.

Alabama averages 30.6 points per game and 366.6 yards per contest. Milroe completes 64.7% of his passes for 1,617 yards and 13 TDs versus 5 interceptions.

“As far as the offensive standpoint, we have to prepare very hard for their defense because they have a great defense,” Milroe added. “They play very physical. They master their game plan every single week, and we have a great challenge in front of us.”

LSU gives up 395 yards per game, and teams can put up points against the Tigers as 4 opponents scored more than 30 points in games this season. If Milroe and company can do that, there’s a chance of delivering the birthday gift for Alabama coach Nick Saban that he really wants.

“I think the biggest gift he wants is win this week,” Milroe said.
