Jalen Milroe addresses Texas roots, which Longhorns player’s jersey he had growing up
It’s no secret that Jalen Milroe has roots in the Longhorn State, which will make next Saturday’s matchup between Alabama and Texas all the more interesting.
After Milroe’s impressive first start in Alabama’s routing if Middle Tennessee, the quarterback addressed his Texas roots with the media.
When asked if he has any Texas fans in his extended family, Milrose simply answered, “yep,” perhaps looking to not ruffle any feathers amongst both his own family and Alabama’s fan base.
Milroe also confirmed that he had a Vince Young jersey growing up. Young was the Longhorns’ standout quarterback from 2003 to 2005 and was a fan-favorite for football fans across the state, including Milroe.

While Texas might have been a young-Milroe’s team, Alabama ultimately managed to wrangle him from the Longhorn State. Now, Milroe will be looking to get a big win against his hometown team.
Alabama and Texas kickoff at 7 p.m. ET next Saturday in one of the premier matchups of the week.
