Kalen DeBoer told reporters on Monday that sophomore safety Keon Sabb will indeed miss the remainder of the season for Alabama after suffering an injury against Tennessee. At first DeBoer was hopeful that Sabb would be able to return at some point later in the year, but that ship has sailed according to the Tide head coach.

Sabb is having season-ending surgery on a lower-body injury suffered in October’s loss to the Tennessee Volunteers. The former Michigan safety transferred to Alabama at the end of last year and was a solid player for Alabama before exiting against the Vols. He finished his 2024 campaign with 39 tackles, 4 passes defended and 2 interceptions.

Obviously, DeBoer told reporters that he’ll be “ready to roll” for next season.

Alabama has turned to Bray Hubbard in Sabb’s stead, and he’s made some progress as a starter. Hubbard snagged an interception during Alabama’s dominant win over Mizzou and had a few tackles against Mercer this past Saturday.

The Tide are in excellent shape to reach the College Football Playoff, with some of the best wins on any resume this season. The Tide have beaten Georgia, LSU, Mizzou and South Carolina with losses to Tennessee and Vanderbilt.

The Tide are back in action this Saturday against Oklahoma in Norman.
