ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit unveiled his College Football Playoff final four teams earlier today on ESPN Radio’s ‘The Herd’ with Colin Cowherd, and one SEC team made the cut.

“I’ve got Michigan State in the final four. I do. UCLA, Michigan State, Alabama, Florida State,” said Hebstreit.

Notice Herbstreit didn’t say Ohio State on the heels of Braxton Miller being out for the season due to a re-injured shoulder, but perhaps Herbstreit didn’t have the Buckeyes before Miller’s injury.

Most have Alabama winning the SEC Championship, prompting a playoff bid as a conference champion, and the Tide enter as the No. 2 team in the country, according to the preseason AP Poll. The other three teams will open the season as No. 1 Florida State (ACC), No. 7 UCLA (Pac-12) and No. 8 Michigan State (Big Ten).

The odd conference out of the Herbstreit’s prediction is the Big 12, which doesn’t have a conference championship game. Several, though, have Oklahoma winning the Big 12 and landing a spot in the playoff.
