Former Alabama DB Minkah Fitzpatrick has experienced a lot in his three years in Tuscaloosa, winning two national titles and losing one other in heartbreaking fashion.

However, as he prepares for the NFL Draft, he leaves college as a champion, thanks to Alabama’s incredible come-from-behind victory against Georgia in this year’s title matchup.

On Wednesday, Fitzpatrick penned a heartfelt goodbye letter to Alabama fans for The Players’ Tribune. The New Jersey native said he’s loved every minute of his time in Tuscaloosa:

I didn’t come to Alabama to have fun — but I experienced the most fun years of my life here. I didn’t come here to meet people — but I’ve met so many friends that I know I’ll stay close with forever. I chose Alabama because I wanted to be at a place that would push me to become the best version of myself that I could possibly be. And, man, did it ever.

New Jersey is home. It always will be.

But Bama, that’s family.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you.

And Roll Tide.

Fitzpatrick is a near-lock to be a top-10 pick in the upcoming draft, and he can thank coach Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide for that.

He’s on to bigger and better things, but he’ll always have the two rings he won at Alabama, as well as a lifetime of memories.
