Nick Saban offered an update on some key players that have been dealing with injury during the SEC coaches teleconference on Wednesday.

Saban said that linebacker Deontae Lawson was able to practice this week after missing last week’s game against Mississippi State because of an injury he suffered during the Ole Miss game. Lawson has been a key part of the defense this season, racking up 26 tackles and a pair of sacks.

Saban also said offensive lineman Terrence Ferguson has been practicing this week after suffering an ankle injury against Ole Miss and missing last week’s game against Mississippi State.

It is still unclear whether the 2 will be available against Texas A&M on Saturday.

One of the biggest questions after Saturday’s game was about Jermaine Burton. The wide receiver played just 9 snaps on the game. On Wednesday, Saban explained why Burton didn’t see much playing time.

“He’s been a little bit banged up,” Saban said. “We were going to try to spot him in the game and get him through the game if we could. Hopefully he’ll be better this week.”

Saban and the Tide are hoping to get those key players ready for a tough game this weekend against Texas A&M.
