Nick Saban on Alabama QB battle: ‘I don’t think you should assume anything’

Nick Saban is clearly tired of fielding questions about Alabama’s ongoing quarterback battle between Jalen Hurts and Tua Tagovailoa.
To be fair, reporters are also tired of asking about it, but the standoff continues nonetheless.
On Monday, Saban was asked if it was safe to assume that a starter wouldn’t be named until the offense takes the field on Saturday, and he responded by saying it wouldn’t be wise to make any assumptions:
Nick Saban asked if we should assume the starting QB is announced at game time: "I don't think you should assume anything. If I'm ready to tell you, I'll tell you. If I'm not, I won't."

Many think Tagovailoa, the hero in last year’s National Championship Game, will get the nod over Hurts, but as Saban said, it’s unwise to assume anything at this point.
We’ll see who takes the field first against Louisville, and from there, we’ll watch to see if both quarterbacks get significant playing time against the Cardinals.
