WATCH: Nick Saban uses colorful language to describe media’s perception of Alabama’s defensive depth

When Alabama suffers an injury, particularly on the defensive side of the ball, media members and fans alike often just assume the Tide have another 5-star player to plug into that spot.
However, on Saturday, coach Nick Saban expressed dismay over that mindset, insisting that Alabama isn’t as well-equipped to handle a rash of injuries (or a quarterback battle) as everyone thinks.
And, in typical Saban fashion, he used some hilarious and colorful language to call out the media for furthering that perception:

Yes, Alabama consistently lands some of the top high-school players in the country, but that doesn’t mean they’re automatically equipped to handle injuries like the ones that have impacted the linebacking corps in 2017 and so far this summer. (LB Chris Allen was the latest Alabama defender to go down.)
However, that’s the sort of perception Saban has created, and now fans will have to wait to see what unsung linebackers step up to provide depth this fall.

After repeatedly complaining about an apparent gap between #Alabama's expected starters and the rest of his roster, I asked Nick Saban how concerned he was with the team's quality depth beyond the first-team unit with a week left in preseason.
