Bryce Young has had a slow start to his NFL career.

The former Alabama quarterback and No. 1 pick in the NFL Draft has logged 967 yards, 6 touchdowns and 4 interceptions through 5 games as the Carolina Panthers have yet to win a game. He’s completed just 63% of his passes.

On Thursday, Paul Finebaum joined “The Young Gun” to discuss Young’s early season struggles.

A Charlotte resident, Finebaum has gotten to talk to Panthers’ fans who are disappointed in the pick.

“I’m personally really disappointed in what I’ve seen and a lot of my friends — as you know I live in Charlotte — are saying we should’ve taken CJ Stroud,” Finebaum said.

But Finebaum stands by the Panthers’ pick, though he questions why they decided to start him so early on rather than giving him some time to develop.

“I still think Bryce is one of the smartest quarterbacks, one of the best quarterbacks I’ve ever seen,” Finebaum said. “But he is developing slow and you have to really wonder, was it a great idea to start him Game 1?”

This weekend, Young will have the chance to take on the Houston Texans and the quarterback that many believe should’ve been drafted over Young in CJ Stroud.
