The Las Vegas Raiders selected Alabama WR Henry Ruggs III with the No. 12 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, making him the first receiver off the board.

The team will rely on him to strengthen the receiving corps and provide a big-play threat in 2020, but on Monday, he reportedly suffered what could have been a much scarier injury.

Per NFL insider Ian Rapoport, Ruggs was helping a friend move when he received either a cut or a puncture wound, but it is not believed to be serious at this time.

The Raiders also released a statement on the matter:

Ruggs recorded 40 catches for 746 yards and 7 touchdowns in 2019 at Alabama.

We’ll see if he ends up being affected by this injury in the regular season or if he’s healed by Week 1.
