Nation’s No. 1 player in the 2017 class, RB Najee Harris, tweets workout video
Five-star running back Najee Harris recently displaced Dylan Moses as the composite No. 1 player in the 2017 recruiting class.
Relative to recruiting rankings, that’s a big deal considering that LSU and others were offering Moses scholarships when he was in eighth grade, and he’s been considered the best prospect in this class for years.
Harris, who committed to Alabama in April of last year, is listed at 6-foot-2 and 200 pounds out of Antioch, Calif.
As many of the Tide’s former players worked out for NFL general managers and scouts in Indianapolis at the Scouting Combine, Harris posted his own workout video on Twitter.
He’s got a ways to go to catch Derrick Henry, who at 247 pounds performed 22 bench press repetitions at 225 pounds on Thursday. But you have to admire his dedication and work ethic, getting after it in late February — months before his high school team begins training in earnest for the 2016 season.

Henry made waves on social media by posting videos of himself flipping tires and pulling a truck. So Alabama fans will welcome another back who takes that much pride in his fitness.
Right now the backfield includes Bo Scarbrough, Damien Harris and true freshman B.J. Emmons. But there’s always room for another five-star talent in a running back stable that usually features two or three players prominently.
