When Alabama was trailing Georgia 13-0 at halftime of the National Championship Game, true freshman Tua Tagovailoa came in and led an incredible comeback.
Now, it seems as if he’s the favorite to land the starting quarterback job for the Crimson Tide, and the Heisman odds certainly reflect that.
Even with zero career starts, Tagovailoa now has the best odds to win the Heisman Trophy, per an update from LV SuperBook:
Bama’s Tua has 0 career starts but he’s now Heisman Trophy favorite via @LVSuperBook:
Tagovailoa 4/1
Love 5/1
Taylor 8/1
Tate 12/1
Grier, McSorley 15/1
Anderson, Fromm, Haskins, Herbert 20/1
Browning, Harris, Patterson, Stidham 25/1
Lock, Swift 30/1— Brett McMurphy (@Brett_McMurphy) August 20, 2018
Other SEC players mentioned are Georgia QB Jake Fromm (20-1), Auburn QB Jarrett Stidham (25-1), Mizzou QB Drew Lock (30-1) and Georgia RB D’Andre Swift (30-1).
However, according to Vegas, this is now Tagovailoa’s award to lose, even though he hasn’t even won Alabama’s starting job yet.
