Arkansas football landed a massive commitment Friday night.

The Razorbacks beat out offers from a few top programs Friday to land San Jose State offensive line transfer Fernando Carmona. Sam Pittman and Co. landed Carmona over the likes of UCLA, Auburn and BYU. Ohio State, South Carolina, Michigan State and more offered Carmona, as well.

Carmona stands at 6-5, 315 pounds and will have 2 seasons of eligibility remaining. He visited UCLA and was scheduled to visit Auburn, but Arkansas won him over before he could even get the The Plains.

Carmona started 24 games and 24 of the 25 games he appeared in across his 3-season stint at San Jose State. He was part of the nation’s 27th best rushing unit and earned a spot on several Mountain West preseason watchlists.

He’s the 5th incoming Razorback from the transfer portal, joining former Michigan State OL KeyShawn Blackstock, Boise State QB Taylen Williams, Eastern Michigan TE Andrew Paaske and Tennessee DB Doneiko Slaughter.
