It’s a family affair in Fayetteville. New Arkansas basketball coach Eric Musselman has hired his son, Michael Musselman, to join his staff, the school announced Monday.
Michael will serve as the Razorbacks’ director of recruiting. It’s not the first time the Musselman boys have worked together. Michael was a graduate assistant on Eric’s Nevada staff last season. The Wolf Pack won 29 games and a Mountain West Championship, earning an NCAA Tournament berth.
Michael was previously a student manager at his alma mater, the University of San Diego for four years. During that time, he assisted the team in practice sessions, scouting reports, film editing and statistical analysis.
Eric was named head coach on April 7. He notched a 110-34 record in four seasons at Nevada. Arkansas does not yet have any commitments for the 2020 and beyond recruiting classes. The Razorbacks also have one more scholarship remaining for the 2019 class or a transfer.
