Arkansas and Louisiana Monroe opened a midweek series on Tuesday with the two sides slated to play 2 games. However, that first game was suspended by weather in the middle of a big lead for Arkansas.

The stoppage in play occurred with 2 runners on and an 8-1 lead for the Razorbacks in the bottom of the 7th inning. The play resumed on Wednesday, but it would take just 3 batters to end the game.

After a groundout and an intentional walk to load the bases, Kuhio Aloy stepped to the plate. He took a full-count pitch out of the ballpark, delivering the game-ending grand slam for the 14-1 run-rule victory for Arkansas.

Across the entire game, Aloy was the offensive star for the Razorbacks. He finished with 3 hits, 6 RBI and an emphatic grand slam. And the good news for fans is it won’t be a brief stay at the ballpark with the 2nd game slated to follow Wednesday afternoon.

So far this season, Arkansas is off to an 11-1 start to the season with only a loss to Kansas State blemishing the record. The Razorbacks look like one of the best teams in the country so far this season and checked in at No. 3 overall on the latest Baseball America rankings in pursuit of their first College World Series appearance since 2022.
